As our loyal listeners may have heard at the beginning of the hour, someone locked me out of the room. Our lovely Jen Gaffney had to be interrupted from the middle of something that was probably infinitely more important to come let me do God's work.

See, you can only lock out the man. But you can't lock out the Movement!

This is guerrilla radio, folks. And I am right there in the front lines.

Rest assured that everyone here at Rhodes Radio is committed to giving you what (most of) you deserve: the very best music on the *&$%ing planet.

Keep listening, keep fighting.

As some of you listening today might have heard, some friends of mine had a death in the family. Their dog died yesterday, and as stupid as this might sound, and I know some people will disagree with me, but even the death of a beloved pet is hard for a lot of families to handle, especially for little boys.

Bella was a black Labrador Retriever who was born in my living room. She was the runt of the litter, and got sick when she was very little. She belonged to some friends, and we were watching her mother when she was pregnant with Bella and eight other puppies, including my own dog, Chili. Bella's mom gave birth right there in our living room, in a kiddie pool I used to use as a small child.

Bella was a feisty little thing. She couldn't have weighed more than 50 pounds, but she had such a spark to her. When Bella was a little puppy, and people would come by to pick out one of the puppies to take home, Kristi would cry every time someone asked to take Bella.

So they kept her.

Bella was a wonderful dog, and an even better family member. Our sympathies here at Very Loud go out to Kristi, Morgan, Bear, and Nash, who lost their little girl this week.

For Bella, "Argaetis Byrjun" by Sigur Ros.

I hope everyone has a great week, and don't forget to listen in on Wednesday. Same time, same place.

See you then!

Cordially,
Jake
